For those of you looking for a very inexpensive baffle we are offering the wraparound SB8GLV with plain electro galvanized finish! This is the least expensive product on the market that actually works *Fully galvanized and will not rust* Wraparound break-apart squirrel baffle for poles 1/2" to 1" diameter. Also 7/16" to 5/8" Square poles. Baffle Diameter is 17". To keep squirrels from getting onto your bird feeder, place your pole-mounted feeders 8-10' away from railings, roofs or trees. Squirrel baffles should be a minimum of 4' from the ground to protect the bird feeder. To close your baffle, slide the left tab into the right slot until they snap together. The locking tab may be bent to secure the seam. This is important as raccoons have learned how to pop ordinary baffles open.
The mounting collar is as important as the baffle shield itself! An all metal (see image below) support collar with instructions is included. Ordinary baffles include substandard - and in some cases plastic collars. The collar must hold the baffle securely in place - and it must not be plastic. Plastic collars can and will be chewed through.

Bird droppings are corrosive. Imported Chinese baffles lose their finish quickly. Our Raccoon and Squirrel Baffles are not mass market imports. All Erva squirrel baffles are made with fully galvanized steel sheet which we purchase as excess to the auto industry in Detroit. This is the same galvanized steel used under the painted finish of new cars!
The galvanized finish on this product may vary in appearance from the image displayed. There are always variations in the pattern, gloss level and texture of galvanized steel sheet. While this may change the appearance of the baffle slightly, it does not affect its corrosion resistant qualities.
